What can I expect on race morning as a volunteer on the wear blue Mile?

  • Dress for the weather. We will be on the line in rain, heat, snow and all types of weather conditions.

  • If you have a wear blue shirt, please wear it. If you do not have one, one will be provided.

  • Coffee, light breakfast food, and water will be provided.

As most races are run in the early morning hours, expect to arrive quite early in the morning, typically between 5 and 6 am.

  • We will start with a Circle of Remembrance, speaking the names of our fallen heroes.

  • Bring comfortable shoes as you will be expected to stand holding an American flag for several hours.

  • Volunteers are able to take breaks to use the restroom or refill drinks and food. We will provide volunteers to hold your spot while you are away from the line.

Exact details of your race will be sent via email after registering.
