Thank you for volunteering on the wear blue Mile at the Rock’n’Roll Chicago Half-Marathon on Sunday, July 21st. We are honored be on the course for the third year and to have your commitment to celebrate and remember the lives of our American military heroes.
Below, please find important wear blue race day information:
Volunteers should arrive at the wear blue Mile by 5:15 am on Sunday, July 21, 2019. The wear blue Mile is located as you turn onto S. Des Plaines Street building up W. Monroe toward the lake.
Please park South of W. Monroe on our around W. Adams. Please note, road closures are between the hours of 6 and 11:30 am. Rock’n’Roll recommends using the WAZE app to navigate the city race morning, as it has been updated with race related road closures.
We recommend dressing in layers, as weather appropriate, with your wear blue shirt as your top layer. If you do not have our signature tee, a complimentary wear blue shirt will be given race morning.
Light refreshments will be provided.

As a wear blue volunteer, you will serve as a living memorial to our fallen service members by lining a mile of the race with American flags, bearing the names of these brave men and women. Prior to the flags Faces of the Fallen tribute posters will be placed in chronological order on the wear blue Mile. Race day will be a chance the Chicago community of runners to pause, honor, remember, and be inspired.
