Dear wear blue friends,

Thank you for being such a special part of the wear blue: run to remember community. Your support for our programs at wear blue’s Second Annual Gala was overwhelming. With so many veterans, Gold Star family members, and committed patriots in the room, the passion to honor the service and sacrifice of the American military was authentic, tangible… and proactive!

After the addition of employer donation matches, over $117,000 was raised in support of your wear blue community’s effort to empower our families of the fallen, support our military and their families. I am truly humbled. If you would like information about employer matching, please contact Melynda Weaver at gala@wearblueruntoremember.org

Your generosity enables us to grow Chicago as our third Gold Star Race community. At next year's gala on Friday, July 17th, these special athletes will join us as they prepare to run, through your support, in honor of their fallen loved ones. I am glad to share photos from this year's event and proud to invite you to our Chicago Saturday Run community.

As you take purposeful steps on Saturday, I urge you to remember Brittany's words about her twin sister Ashley, “She was genuine, humble, strong, courageous, and quiet, but is most remembered as being extraordinarily kind and heroic in her sacrifice and service to country.” Thank you for remembering heroes like Ashely, the men and women with whom you served, and the families who support them. You are creating a community of hope

For the fallen. For the fighting. For the families.
