Step One of the Triple Crown: Honoring Heroes at the Army Ten-Miler

This fall, Tracy Reade and MSG (Ret.) Andrew Moore are taking on a challenge that spans continents, time zones, and generations of sacrifice. They’ll tackle a trio of endurance races, the Army Ten-Miler, the Marine Corps Marathon, and the “Hoplite” Marathon in Athens, Greece, all while carrying 22 lbs. (10 kg) of military body armor. Every step they take honors the fallen and supports the families they left behind.

They’ve named it their "Triple Crown for Gold Star Families" — a personal, physical, and deeply meaningful campaign to raise awareness and funds for wear blue: run to remember. Tracy and Andrew are fundraising specifically for two cornerstone programs that provide long-term, life-affirming support to families of the fallen: the Gold Star Youth Mentorship Program and the Gold Star and Survivor Endurance Program.

Their first race is the Army Ten-Miler in Washington, D.C. A staple event in the military community, the Ten-Miler is where Tracy and Andrew begin their journey, surrounded by thousands who share a deep understanding of service and sacrifice. For Andrew, a retired Army Master Sergeant, this return to D.C. holds weight. It's a way to reconnect with the Army family while honoring those who never made it home. For Tracy, it’s a starting line filled with purpose.

Together, they will carry the names of 21 fallen service members, honoring each one mile after mile:

Lt. Col. Harold W. "Indian Joe" Bauer, USMC
SPC Ryan Long, USA
SSG Nino Livaudais, USA
SGT Sean Reynolds, USA
SSG Michael Schafer, USA
SSG John Doles, USA
SGT Troy Ezernack, USA
SPC Matthew Steyart, USA
SFC John Morton, USA
MAJ Thomas Bostick Jr., USA
SSG Larry Rougle, USA
SFC Kristoffer Domeij, USA
SGT Sapuro B. Nena, USA
PFC Genaro Bedoy, USA
SPC Joshua N. Nelson, USA
PFC Jon R. Townsend, USA
1SG Russel Bell, USA
Capt. Paul J. Barbour, USAF
CSM Timothy A. Bolyard, USA
CPL James Requenez, USA
Gregory Solewin

Each name represents a life of courage and a family forever changed. Tracy and Andrew are determined to make sure those lives are never forgotten, and that their families are not left to carry the weight of loss alone.

“When the military support systems fade and the benefits expire, surviving families still wake up every day missing their loved one,” Andrew shares. “We want to be a bridge — to purpose, connection, and healing.”

Through wear blue’s Gold Star and Survivor programs, that bridge becomes real. Children of the fallen are paired with trained military mentors to help guide them through life’s challenges. Surviving spouses, siblings, and parents find renewed strength and support through training, movement, and community.

The Army Ten-Miler is just the first chapter. Next, Tracy and Andrew will take on the Marine Corps Marathon, followed by the “Hoplite” Marathon in Athens, retracing the legendary route that gave birth to the marathon itself.

Their finish lines will be measured in more than miles. They’ll be measured in impact,  in the lives of surviving families who will feel seen, remembered, and supported because of this journey.

Follow their campaign and donate today. Your gift helps ensure that grief is not the final chapter — and that families of the fallen continue to walk, run, and live with purpose.
