wear blue: run to remember is honored to welcome Eric Meister and Josh Furlow to its Board of Directors. Together, they bring decades of leadership across military service, technology, endurance sports, live events, entertainment, and the public sector, along with a shared commitment to honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s military.
Eric Meister
Eric brings more than 35 years of leadership experience across military service, technology, and public sector mission delivery. He served as a Signal Officer in the U.S. Army and spent 27 years at Microsoft supporting Public Sector and Defense customers. Eric and his wife Stephanie live in Ashburn, VA, and have two grown children.
Eric connects to wear blue’s mission through active remembrance: honoring service and sacrifice through purposeful movement, reflection, and community. As a runner, Eric has seen firsthand the mental health benefits of staying active and the power of running communities to create connection, resilience, and shared purpose.
His experience supporting the Marine Corps Marathon Tribute wear blue Mile left a lasting impression. While helping set up the Mile, reflecting on the service members being honored, and cheering on runners as they passed through, Eric experienced the unique way wear blue brings remembrance to life.
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve on the wear blue: run to remember Board,” Eric shared. “The mission speaks to me personally — honoring service and sacrifice through active remembrance, while supporting service members, veterans, families of the fallen, and the broader military community. I look forward to learning from this team, helping raise awareness across the Defense community, and contributing to the organization’s strategy for greater impact.”
Eric is a founding member of his local running club and currently serves as treasurer. He brings to wear blue valuable perspective through experience delivering transformational solutions on the Microsoft platform. Combined with years of work alongside Defense customers, Eric will help shape wear blue’s continued growth and mission impact.
Josh Furlow
Josh Furlow is Co-Founder and Principal of The Trust Group, a portfolio company investing in sports, entertainment, and hospitality. He brings more than 25 years of experience in endurance sports, live events, and entertainment, having served as CEO of Monolith Studios, President and CEO of Competitor Group, and in executive roles at AEG Live and AEG Sports.
Josh’s met Lisa Hallett in Seattle at one of wear blue’s first events, and has followed the organization’s growth and the community being built ever since.
“It is a full-circle moment from meeting Lisa in Seattle at one of wear blue’s first events and now being asked by Lisa to serve on her Board,” Josh shared. “I’ve spent my career around people who have served, and I carry real pride and respect for what the military does for this country. To be a part of what Lisa and this community has built is the most honest way I know for a civilian to stand up and serve.”
A graduate of Michigan State University, Josh lives in Columbia, South Carolina, with his wife and two boys. He brings to wear blue his experience in endurance sports and event leadership, along with an understanding of the business and entertainment landscape that will provide valuable insight as wear blue continues expanding its reach and strengthening the communities it serves.
